Two quality sessions most weeks alongside the long run. Assumes you already run about 35-45 mi a week, with a run of 13-15 mi in the last month.
Fewer than 5 days a week is not offered at this peak: its weekly volume does not fit in fewer days. For 3 or 4 days, choose a peak of 45 mi or less.
For a race with real climbs. On weeks whose long run has a marathon pace part, the midweek workout becomes hill repeats (8 x 400 m uphill).
Tell us what you have been running lately, so the plan can start from there.
    Plan by time or distance
Train only if you are healthy enough to. If you are unsure, check with a doctor first.
